The Red Wagon

It was a beautiful day as four of us stood outside enjoying a perfect sunny day.  We notice a big red wagon sitting in the yard.  As we walked over to the wagon, it became more captivating as though our names were on it, and it was adult sized.  Just for fun we decide to get in the wagon finding it was a perfect fit. An uncontrollable laugh came over us as we sat in the wagon.  Everyone was excited at first, the longer we sat in the wagon I begin to tense up. it was if I knew something was about to take place.    We heard, “Go!” Immediately I closed my eyes in fear that we might crash! I woke up discovering it was only a dream.

As I pondered over my dream, I heard these words.

“You at once feared hearing the word, ‘Go.’  Instead, excitement to experience the takeoff into the unknown should have been your emotion knowing that I Am with you and go before you making your crooked path straight!  Believing that I can always be everywhere for you to have an amazing experience with people I choose to travel with you.  The ride would be boring if it did not have bumps in the road, or red light to bring your journey to a pulse to inhale fresh air.  The trains holding up traffic while you recognize your maturity from the start of your journey until now.  Many moments of your journey could have been full of enjoyment if you enter the red wagon with excitement.  There are so many things around you were meant for you to enjoy, but in fear of disappointing Me, you choose not to enjoy life.  I am your Father who hold you close, and desire for you to live life to the fullest.  I am the promise keeper, your protector and provider. I am your healer, sustainer, and friend.  I am here to pull you through rough times and push you in challenging moments.  All you need is in Me, and all you need is in you.  Trust My plan and get in the Red Wagon its design to get you where you were born to live.”

After hearing these words, I realized that I had allowed fear to rise in various areas in my life.  ‘False alarms’ are what I call them; they show up as distractions to get my attention on trivial things.  False alarm also shows up as lies planting fear so I will not reach my destination.  Now, let the truth reign!  Today I am jumping in the Red Wagon with much excitement.  Fresh wind is blowing on my skin as I sit in the wagon enjoying the motion of the ride.

PRAYER

Father, I repent for allowing fear to keep me from Your love, Your plan and Your desire.  I’m asking you to send Your healing power to heal me from childhood fears and teach me how to live in Your protection as Psalms 91 declares.  Now that I am aware of my fears, teach me how to live under Your shadow as I face them then help me to trust in You as I overcome all and get in the Red Wagon and enjoy life as You have planned for me.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen
